Kei Shimaoka


<Career>
1978: Born in Mashiko town as the second son of Hitoshi Fudeya (Japanese painter) and Yoshiko (glass artist).
1996: Graduates from the Department of Cooking, Utsunomiya Junior College High School.
1997: Graduates from (the Department of Training) Tochigi Ceramic Training Center.
   Starts six-year training as a disciple of Tatsuzo Shimaoka, his grandfather.
2003: Starts pottery-making at the Shimaoka Pottery.
   Holds a graduation exhibition at Takumi Craft Shop in Ginza, Tokyo.
2004: Holds a solo exhibition at Ginza Matsuya Department Store (and annually thereafter).
2005: Holds a solo exhibition at Hankyu Department Head Store in Umeda and Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro
   (and both annually thereafter).
   Adopted as a son of Tatsuzo Shimaoka.
2007: Participates in the JARFO “Feats of Clay Exhibition.”
   Succeeds to the Shimaoka Pottery.
