深圳大学における坂本一成建築展開催
10/12日より、深圳大学术村美术館にて、坂本一成名誉教授の展覧会が開催されています。この度の展覧会は、坂本名誉教授の45年 余の研究と設計活動の全貌を俯瞰し、氏の建築論を議論し合う場を設ける目的で、東京工業大学博物館が協力しているものです。

東工大 POTTERY CAMP2014＊2015成果報告展
会期：2015年5月19日（火）〜6月26日（金） 月曜日休館
会場：益子陶芸美術館第3展示室
東京工業大学では、博物館と無機材料工学科、附属科学技術高等学校の共同により、平成26年11月〜平成27年4月の
約半年にわたって、東工大生と附属高校生を対象とした“やきものづくりから学ぶものつくり”『東工大POTTERY CAMP』を
実施した。栃木県益子町との連携により実現したこの教育プログラムは、異なる専門分野に所属しながらも、等しく科学・技術の
基礎を学ぶ学生や生徒たちが“ものつくることとは何かを肌で学ぶ機会を提供するという趣旨で企画されたものです。
このたび、成果報告展として、その取り組みと、制作した作品を展示いたしました。

The exhibition features 13 ceramic pieces selected from new items donated or acquired via other means. Since the Department of Ceramics was established at the Tokyo Vocational School (now Tokyo Institute of Technology), it has fostered many potters. The art pieces featured in this exhibition have been created by such artists closely related to the Institute and actively engaging their creation in famous Japanese pottery production venues, including Seto, Kasama and Mashiko.

Tatsuzo Shimaoka Exhibition
Supported by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Museum Nakazawa Collection
The “Tatsuzo Shimaoka Exhibition -- Supported by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Museum Nakazawa Collection” will be held from April 21 to July 21, 2013 at the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art. The occasion is to mark the conferment of an Honorable Citizen award by Mashiko town to the late Tatsuzo Shimaoka, a Living National Treasure and graduate of the Department of Ceramics (Currently the Department of Inorganic Materials), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech).
The exhibition showcases around 60 carefully selected pieces from the so-called “Nakazawa Collection,” comprising more than 110 items collected and donated to Tokyo Tech in 2000 by Tomohiko Nakazawa, Tatsuzo’s department classmate and best friend.
Mashiko town garnished with young spring green is also worth a visit!

ATLAS Experiment LEGO Model Assembly Open Workshop
The Jinnai and Kuze Laboratories at the Department of Fundamental Physics are assembling an “ATLAS Experiment LEGO 1/50 Model,” to be used in an experiment with the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) installed at CERN in Switzerland. The assembly is for public viewing.

Please note that applicants for the workshop may be selected by drawing, if the number exceeds the capacity at the reception start time (12:30). However, those who are not selected can also attend as part of the audience to enjoy watching the potters create works.
